BEWARE: Commercial Drivers of Truck Classifications 6, 7 & 8 Using a Mobile Telephone.

The final rule, in effect now, prohibits commercial drivers of Truck Classifications 6, 7 & 8 from using a hand-held mobile telephone while operating a commercial truck or bus.

Civil penalties include: up to $2,750 for drivers for any violation, up to $11,000 for employers, as well as disqualification of a CMV driver license for violations of the Act.
